2012 Clawford Fishing Festivals.

In 2012, Clawford will b e running two Fishing Festivals.

One in Spring.

One in Autumn.

The two festivals will have a different format with slightly different rules.

The maximum number of participants taking part in each of the festivals will be Forty Eight (48) Anglers.


The 'Clawford Masters Spring festival' will take place from Saturday 21st. to Saturday 28th. April 2012.

The festival will take place over a seven day period and is only open to anglers who are NOT sponsered.

The format of the 2012 festival can be seen at the bottom of this web page.

Saturday night at 19.00 hours, the organisers will meet in the bar with the festival anglers to discuss Format, Lakes and Rules.

On Sunday will be a one off, open Rover day.

Festival days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Prize giving will be held on Friday 27st. April in the bar.

Following the prize giving Wanda will provide a complimentary Curry or Goulash or something tastey.

Bookings will only be taken for anglers who will be taking part over the full 7 day event.

So, please book early to avoid disappointment. Book and pay the deposit in 2011 & pay 2011 prices.

The 'Clawford Classic Autumn festival' will take place from Saturday 15th. to Saturday 22nd. September 2012.

The festival will take place over a seven day period and will still be organised and run by Martin Cocks and his team of professionals from Exeter..

The format of the 2012 festival will be the same format as the 2011 festival.

Saturday night at 19.00 hours, the organisers will meet in the bar with the festival anglers to discuss Format, Lakes and Rules.On Sunday will be a one off, open Rover day.

Festival days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Due to the great success of the festival in 2010, numbers for the 2011 festival will be pegged to 45 anglers.

Bookings will only be taken for anglers who will be taking part over the full 7 day event.

So, please book early to avoid disappointment. Book and pay the deposit in 2010 & pay 2010 prices.

In 2012 a festival entrance fee of £80 will be levied for every angler taking part in the 7 day event.

Clawford will donate £40 for each angler taking place in the 7 day event.

Based on 48 anglers, prize money will be more than £5,760 plus prizes, trophies & a weeks holiday @ Clawford worth £350.

Every competitor will require at least two, Carp friendly keep-nets and barbless hooks.

Cat meat, floating baits or plastic/rubber baits are banned.

The remaining rules revolve around common sense.

The prizes will be awarded on Friday night, in the bar at 20.30 hours.


The Festival Lakes.

There will be six lakes involved in the Festivals.

Selection of the Festival Lakes will be made the day before fishing and will be selected from the following.

1.    JR’s Lake.           

2.    Clawford Lake.       

3.    Edwards Lake.       

4.    Gregorys Lake.        

5.    Rowes’s Lake.         

6.    Major John's Lake.   

On Sunday we will be running an 'Open' or 'Rover' event.


Description of the Festival Lakes.

          JR’S LAKE.    ¶¶¶¶¶

        This is the Clawford pleasure lake.

        During March and September, bags of over 320 lbs. are common.

        Contains a good head of Carp, Roach, Bream, Rudd, Big Perch and Cat fish. Etc.

        CLAWFORD LAKE.    ¶¶¶¶¶

        This is the Clawford Intermediate Carp Lake.

        Daily bags of over 600 lbs. have been taken during March and September.

        Contains ‘a lot’ of Small to Medium sized Carp.

        GREGORYS LAKE.    ¶¶¶¶¶

        This will again, be the first time ever Gregorys Lake will be match fished.

        This lake can produce bags of over 125 lbs.

        Contains Roach, Golden Rudd, Gold Carp, Koi, Golden Tench, Golden Orfe and Pink Orfe.

        EDWARDS LAKE.    ¶¶¶¶¶

        This lake is probably the most prolific lake at Clawford.

        It contains every species of fish contained in Fletchers Lake and Wandas Lake.

        This lake can produce bags of over 250 lbs.

        Contains Roach, Barbell, Skimmers, Chub, Ghost Carp, Koi, Green Tench, Blue Orfe and .

        ROWES LAKE.    ¶¶¶¶¶

        This is Clawfords match fishing Lake.

        This contains almost every species of coarse fish on the Clawford complex.

        Roach, Rudd, Bream, Green Tench, Chub, Ide, Golden Orfe, Crucian Carp and King Carp. etc.

         MAJOR JOHNS LAKE.  ¶¶¶¶¶ 

        Tried this lake for the first time in 2011 festival. Produced weights similar to JR's Lake.

        This contains almost every species of coarse fish on the Clawford complex.

        Roach, Rudd, Bream, Green Tench, Chub, Ide, Golden Orfe, Crucian Carp and King Carp. etc.

CLAWFORD MASTERS SPRING FISHING FESTIVAL RULES 2012 

By entering the festival at Clawford, you agree to abide by these  rules.

If you brake or are found to have broken any of these rules we have the right to require you forfeit the match and the festival and  take no further part. Any entry fees will not be returned to you.

The rules are in place to ensure the smooth running of the festival & to make the festival fair and enjoyable for all those taking part.

However, Lakes used in the Festival can be fished using a pole. (At the anglers own risk)

 

 GENERAL RULES

                    1.        NO FLOATING POLE.   
                    2.   
    WHEN USING THE POLE A FLOAT MUST BE USED WITH A MINIMUM OF 4 INCHES FROM CONNECTOR TO FLOAT
                    3.        16m POLE LENGTH LIMIT
                    4.        NO BAIT SHALL BE INTRODUCED BY ANY METHOD BEFORE THE START OF THE MATCH.

                    5.        METHOD FEEDERS MAY BE USED BUT INLINE ONLY.

                    6.   
    NO SURFACE FISHING.
                    7.        NO POLE TAPPING.

                    8.        ALL FEEDERS AND BOMBS MUST BE FREE RUNNING.

                    9.        PLEASE BRING 3 KEEP NETS 2 FOR CARP 1 FOR SILVER FISH.

                    10.     NO FISHING OUTSIDE YOUR PEG.THE LIMIT OF YOUR PEG IS THE NEXT PEG EITHER SIDE OF YOU IF VACANT OR IF THE PEG BESIDE YOU
                               IS TAKEN YOU MAY FISH HALF WAY BETWEEN THE OTHER ANGLER AND YOURSELF.
                    11.     ALL ANGLERS MUST WEIGH IN EVERY DAY. AN ANGLER FAILING TO GO TO HIS PEG WITHOUT GOOD REASON MAY, AT THE DISCRETION
                              OF THE FESTIVAL ORGANISERS, BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE FESTIVAL & MAY NOT BE INVITED BACK.
                    12.    REMEMBER YOU ARE FISHING FOR YOUR TEAM, PAIR PARTNER AND THE MYSTERY WEIGHT PRIZE SO ANY CATCH COULD WIN CASH.

BAIT INFORMATION AND RULES (Spot checks will be carried out daily) 
                    1.         BAITS YOU CANNOT USE;
                                                            a).    BLOODWORM AND JOKER.
                                                            b)     SURFACE BAITS, (Floating on the surface)
                                                            c)     PLASTIC OR ANY ARTIFICIAL BAITS
                                                            d)      CAT OR DOG MEAT
                    2.        YOUR DAILY BAIT ALLOWANCE WILL BE 8 PINTS MADE UP OF:CLAWFORD PELLETS (WHICH CAN BE PURCHASED FROM THE SHOP)
                                AND ANY COMBINATION OF MAGGOTS, CASTERS & HEMP.

                  
 3.        IN ADDITION TO THE BAITS SET OUT ABOVE YOU CAN HAVE THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL BAIT:
                                                            a)   
UP TO ONE PINT YOUR OWN HOOKABLE PELLETS (i.e. EXPANDERS, BOILIES, CARP PELLET,ETC)
                                                            b)    UP TO 1 KILO OF WORMS
                                                            c)    UP TO 2 KILOS OF GROUND BAIT/PASTE.

                                                            d)    UP TO 2 KILOS OF CORN (6 STANDARD SIZE TINS)

                                                            e)    UP TO 2 STANDARD TINS OFLUNCHEON MEAT.

GENERAL FESTIVAL  FORMAT.

Saturday evening, meet in the bar with the organisers. Pay your £80.00 festival pools. By entering the festival you agree to abide by the Clawford Festival 2012 rules. Clawford management will be adding an additional £40.00 per angler to the prize money.
The daily super pools of £10.00 x5 must be paid before you draw BUT is NOT compulsory.

SUNDAY: Open Rover Match organizers choice of lake.
Sunday evening:

a).    Draw for sections.

b).     Draw for team of four

c).    Draw for pairs.

Each angler draws his own section and partners. This gives him chance to familiarise who his pairs and team partner will be for the week.

 MONDAY:              1st. Match fish your section.

TUESDAY:              2nd Match fish your section

 WEDNESDAY:      3rd Match fish your section

THURSDAY:           4th Match fish your section

 FRIDAY:                 Open Draw

FRIDAY NIGHT: Presentation  in the bar 8pm 

An ideal number for the first Spring festival would be forty which would allow us to fish 4 sections of 10.

(A) Section could be JR

(B)  Section could be JR

(C)  Section could be Major John

(D) Section could be Clawford

Each section will weigh it’s self in to cut down on time. 3 people from each section will be expected to undertake this duty .unless any person has a good reason for not doing so.
