Tanners lake. (2 Rods)   

The Specimen Carp Lake.

(The home of over seven Clawford 40's, 0ver 38 Clawford 30's and over 40 Clawford 20's.)

Tanner's Lake is about 4.25 acres with three islands & 2 large sunken islands.

The lake ranges from 3 to 15 feet deep with many underwater features including deep trenches, shelves, holes and shallow areas. 

Tanners lake has a lot of purpose built swims covering the whole lake.

The lake contains over 90 double-figure Carp up to +45 lb. 

This lake is only available for fishing by residents plus a handful of local anglers who are members of the 'Clawford Carp Club'.

This lake has a wealth of natural food and wild life and is considered to be a medium to hard water. 

This lake presently has seven Carp between the magical 40 & 45 lb. mark,  more than 38 carp over 30 lb, +40 carp over 20lb.

Hence a minimum 10 lbs. breaking strain line is required for this lake

The lake, islands and banks were remodelled to provide an enhanced environment for the carp and better access & facilities for the angler.

When the lake was restocked, each carp was accurately weighed and heir weights recorded.

The biggest carp returned to the lake was a 45lb. Common, plus another four Common carp over the 40lb. mark.

Since the lake was reopened in late September 2010 the best captures were a 38lb. 4oz. & a 36lb. Mirror 34lb. 8oz. Mirror & a 28lb. Common.
